There were 1001 Scenicruisers produced by GMC Truck&Coach Division from 1954 through 1956.

PD stands for Parlor Diesel - 45 number of seats - 01 first in the series of 45 passenger coaches.

The Scenicruiser was a registered trade mark by Greyhound.

Only Greyhound were the owner and operator of the Scenicruiser unless it was operated in pool service with a carrier in agreement with Greyhound.
